That's great for living in the country. Can you imagine someplace like San Francisco without building codes. Shoddy electrical work causing fires, buildings coming down due to earthquakes, and so on... I'm cool with it I'm the country, but I don't want to live within 1/4 mile of a house that "uncle billy bob" wired the electrical.

My off-the-cuff comment has more to do with so many laws being passed because people think they're good ideas.
I care far more about preservation of Natural Rights than I do about safety.

Also, my comment addressed the public/private aspect of the topic. I am not saying that it is a GOOD idea, nor practical. Rather that I am tired of good ideas being turned into laws. That path leads to 1984.
