The "10 digit dialing" thread gave me an idea for a poll question.

(I dropped my land line years ago.)

Haven't had a home or business land line in over 12 years.
On the very rare occasions I need to send an actual fax over wire, I use an online service and pay like 5-10 cents a page. Maybe once or twice a year.
I think most people just use pdf's anymore.
Haven't snail mailed an invoice to a client in well over 10 years.

Cell phones for personal use. PTHubby has a VOIP line for business use only - he works from home. We don't ever answer it or use it except for his conference calls.

Just sayin'

Does he really need to be able to select the second option when we all know it's a given?

We have both, but that's mainly because we have kids in the house and where we live cell reception is "okay", but not 100%. If the kids are home by themselves, I don't want to make sure their cell phones are charged/not on mute/in another room etc. In a couple of years though, we will probably eliminate it, once the youngest (10) is a little older and has his own cell.

Both here.... I still can't bring myself to give up the land line.... and in reality, the additional cost when you're getting internet and cable from Crapcast/Frontsneer really isn't that much more --- $10-15 per month over a plan without the phone. Really doesn't get used that much, but its the one I use when you have to sit on hold for ever.

I had a comcast phone line a few years ago, plan was $10 less with the phone than without it.
Finally went out and bought a phone setup to connect to it a couple months later.
There were about 100 messages from Sears Credit and other collection agencies.
Whoever had that number before me must have been a real dead beat.
