Former Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s own words were the linchpin in the case against him, his quotes cited more than 20 times in a federal judge's ruling that found him guilty of criminal contempt of court.

In a verdict filed Monday morning, U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton said evidence demonstrated Arpaio’s “flagrant disregard” for another federal judge’s order that halted his signature immigration round-ups.

The sentencing phase will begin Oct. 5. Arpaio, 85, faces up to six months in confinement, a sentence equivalent to that of a misdemeanor.

Man, this is just a Speed Bump for Joe. The Mayor of Washington DC got caught on tape and camera smoking a crack pipe in a hotel room with a prostitute and he was re-elected again for Mayor.

I know people who lived under the rule of Sheriff Joe that don't speak favorably of him at all.

Illegal aliens make up 3% of the population but account for 12% of the murders and 20% of kidnappings. When Obama broke the law with his illegal amnesty executive order Sheriff Joe decidea to try and keep his community safe.

Where is the punishment for Obama violating the law? The court system threw out his executive order after bit had already been in place for a while and had affected MILLIONS, including citizens who were assaulted, robbed and even murdered by the illegal aliens he refused to deport.

Put Sheriff Joe in jail after Obama is done serving time for his crimes.

Isn't an element of jail supposed to be cruel? After all, it is punishment for breaking the rule of law. Part of the problem I see is there are no REAL consequences anymore, steal a car, get three hots and a cot... a short vacation

I support Arpaio. These charges are bullshit. He was doing the job he was elected to do. Fuck the criminals who complained about the living conditions under him. Jail is not a fucking spa or country club. Fuck the Obama administration for telling him NOT to do his job. Fuck the illegal scumbag border jumpers that he was tasked with rounding up and sending back home.

How can someone be found guilty of breaking a law who was told to break the law doing his job? Why aren't those above him in jail also?

State commissioned LE can't enforce federal laws. And vice versa. Can't hold people without probable cause of state offense. Same here.

Last time I checked the circuit courts were divided on ICE cooperation retainers as well as the federal program to deputize local LEOs to administer immigration warrants.
