I don't know about 'blistering', but it is kinda warm out.
My little 14,000 BTU portable will be struggling.
I run the AC during the day and turn the big fan on when the outside temp drops down later on in the day.

Much of the country is used to occasional 100-degree days. Seattle, which has had just three in the past 123 years, is not.

So unaccustomed is Seattle to scorching heat that, in 2015, only one-third of the housing units in its metropolitan area had air-conditioning.

That’s going to make this week dangerous.

The National Weather Service is predicting “widespread record highs” as a heat wave engulfs the Pacific Northwest. An excessive heat warning is in effect from 2 p.m. on Tuesday through 9 p.m. on Friday. Seattleites can expect temperatures in the mid-80s to lower 90s on Tuesday. Wednesday will be in the 90s. And that three-digit barrier: Thursday may break it, with highs potentially “near 104.”

Awh come on Guntrader... you gotta make the thread title stand out better than that.
Use something like:
HEAT WAVE 2017
THE PNW IS ON FIRE
OLD PEOPLE AND CHILDREN ARE DYING FROM THE HEAT
:peep:

I grew up here most of my life without AC.
Had oversized central air at our Bellevue house.............kinda miss it.
Used to leave it on max all day, when I got home from work house was like a walk in cooler.

This heat wave will be accompanied by relatively dry air. Back in 2009 it was also very humid. That was pretty brutal.

I spent that day floating the green river with a cooler full of beer. I didn't notice it till I dried off in 5 minutes

I have an appointment in Everett on thursday.

No AC in my truck.

I may be one of those "old people" who die from the heat...

Nicely air conditioned here. Just installed two new central air units this spring.

Just build a redneck cooler with ice and a fan.

I don't like a hot house. I can't sleep when it's too warm.

Even regular Seattle summers make most places uncomfortable.

Bought my house and it already had central AC installed. Added a NEST.

1 hour before I'm done with work, it switches on and by the time I pull into the driveway, my house is a nice comfortable 70 degrees.

Used to keep it at 68 but now with the wife I compromised to 70....

We put in a heat pump two summers ago. Keep the house at a nice 74°. The biggest difference is we can cook and use out stove during the summer. Our house would be in the mid 80s at night and had a tough time cooling down. Especially if we cooked anything. Our kids rooms are above the garage too, and their stuff never cooled down. That purchase was worth it IMO.

Im more worried/annoyed by the smoke from the fires than the heat. The smoke makes my eyes water if i wear my contacts. As for the heat...meh it sucks but its only a couple days. I can live with that. Especially if this nicer breeze stays as its actually quite nice out right now even with it in the upper 80s. As for the the heat portion...ill just keep drinking more water to stay hydrated and take it easy after work
