Um ya, I thought you were kidding originally saying he was the best 3rd round pick ever, but I guess you were actually serious. Comparing 70' and 80's NFL to today's NFL is like comparing apples to beans. Guys today are bigger, stronger, faster and never really take time off even in the offseason like the guys back then did. Training camp back then was to get the guys in shape from an offseason of beer & boobies. kinda was and wasn't lol. At the end of the season or career, only numbers matter, no matter the era. Exactly. Thats why comparing players from different era's makes zero sense. Players evolve, play calling evolves and the game changes. It is apples and oranges comparing old vs. new. New era QBs do not suffer nearly as much adversity as those from the 1970s-1990s. The don't get hit as much or as hard, the defenses are handicapped with different rules against downfield contact, they can not hit the QB except under very narrow circumstances, and so forth. And the training is less intuition/leadership/raw talent and more by-the-numbers. The QB position is drastically different. Lot's of QBs win titles and SBs. Let me know when Wilson does something remarkable. 1 SB isn't remarkable. And they had the best in other positions anyway. Take Jim McMahon. Solid QB, solid stats, 1 SB win, 1 Probowl appearance, led the Bears on a phenomenal season and lopsided SB win. Looking at McMahon's first 6 or 7 years compared to Wilson's career in 7 years, they aren't that far apart. Wilson has more raw yards passing, but their averages are almost identical per pass/completion/attempt and TDs, but the Bears had Payton and ran a lot more. And all offenses were different then and all QBs had less passing yards at the time across the board. Anyway, nobody would put McMahon in the top 20 or 30 QBs of all time though. Same with Wilson. Ratings now are probably a solid 10-20 points inflated vs. ratings back then across the board. McMahon has a career rating of 78. Heck, Elway's rating is like 79. Marino was 86. Montana was 92. Young was 96. Jim Kelly was 84. Bradshaw was 70. Brady is 97. Nobody is gonna convince me that Wilson can wear Elway's jockstrap but it appears that way if you go on ratings alone since Wilson has a 99 or whatever. Tom Brady was a lightly regarded prospect coming out of college, and was selected by the New England Patriots with the 199th overall pick in the sixth round of 2000 NFL Draft. He has subsequently played his entire professional career with the Patriots and has enjoyed a distinguished and decorated career that includes five Super Bowl wins, four Super Bowl MVPs, and two League MVPs. As a result of his highly successful career, Brady is rated among the greatest quarterbacks of all time. In addition to his other accolades, he has been named to the Pro Bowl twelve times and led the league in passing three times. He holds numerous NFL post-season passing records, and has more post-season wins than any other quarterback. Since Brady became their starting quarterback, the Patriots have never had a losing season and have won 14 division titles. The Patriots played in eleven AFC Championship Games from 2001 to 2016—including six in a row from 2011 to 2016—and won seven of them.

"Lot's of QBs win titles and SBs. Let me know when Wilson does something remarkable. 1 SB isn't remarkable. And they had the best in other positions anyway."
Only 29 quarterbacks have won the Super Bowl, out of thousands that have played.
Your definition of "lot's" is unique to you.
Many people consider Aaron Rodgers one of the best QB's ever.
How many Super Bowls has he won?
On yeah, 1.

On yeah, 1. Winner. I guess Marino, Fouts, Moon, and Rivers are all complete failures then.

Lots of QBs have done that and better - look at Randall Cunningham. Far better QB and more athletic and talented. Could run and throw circles around Wilson. https://youtu.be/SwZZICUDWFo

Okay, you like stats.... In 5 years, Wilson has 144 TDs, in 16 years, Cunningham has 201..... Cunningham had 29,000 yards, Russ is already over 20,000?... Cunningham lifetime passer rating, 81.5, Russ is over 99.2.... Oh, and two pages ago when you said all that mattered was Super Bowls.....Russel 1, Cunningham 0 Cunningham never went.... But you found a YouTube video....okay....maybe go look at more of Russell's......

Currently Wilson is 6 years in, and 9k less in passing yards. Wilson also has a better completion percentage. How many superbowls did Cunningham play in?
