Maybe bring some billy clubs, fire-hoses, and German Shepherds too. Worked in the past. Back in the day, they had detox vans that would drive around picking up intoxicated transients and taking them to jail or wherever. I can't understand why the mayor and council would allow this to continue unless they are truly brain dead libtards. deadshot2 wrote: Guntrader wrote: Everett PD could put a few cars out there and fund the city with stop sign citations. Most people don't stop. Probably for fear of being car jacked. I figured that out right away. Everett needs to just make a pass once or twice a day with a "Water Truck" like they used to do on all city streets several decades ago. Just set the nozzles to sweep all the shit off the sidewalks too, literally. On pass early in the AM and another about sundown to make the area too wet for them to set up camp again. FWIW, if I was driving though there and got a ticket for rolling through the stop sign I'd take it to the magistrate and make that very claim, afraid of being car-jacked. But then why would I even want to drive through there?

So sad, on so many levels.
Failed people, failed parents, failed schools, failed healthcare, and a broken society. How do you fix this mess? This is so many streets in so many cities. Probably millions of people live this way. Too far gone to fix, and probably need hundreds of thousands of dollars per person in treatments.
Do you let them rot and die? Do you spent valuable resources fixing them from their self-created mess? Do you let them continue to be an eyesore, public nuisance, and safety hazard to the general tax paying population? Do you put them in mental hospitals involuntarily? Jail them? And at what financial costs?
The take away, if you have kids, force them to watch this and understand this is the glamour of drug use. Every person there tried it just once.

Find a very isolated island, many miles from here, and drop them all off. That's how Australia got its start. Seriously though, just got back from a father, son trip to Reno and my pops commented on the preponderance of panhandlers and street people there. I reminded him that Reno aint got nuthin on Everett when it comes to transients living homeless and addicted. I grew up here and I can tell you that the transient population has exploded in Everett over the last 5 years or so. I can't quite put my finger on a single causal factor but it is indeed a fact.

I am pleased that my computer is unable to view that streamed video. Based on the descriptions I agree with LC on the sadness...

The take away, if you have kids, force them to watch this and understand this is the glamour of drug use. Every person there tried it just once. It's not just drugs. At some point we stopped raising strong young men and women. We stepped back and let Disney, Nickelodeon, and Xbox raise our kids because it was easy. The schools started teaching political correctness, sex education too early, and handing out too many participation ribbons. We've nerfed the world. How could we honestly expect a high rate of responsibility from the next generation when we're teaching them that it doesn't matter what you do our how you act, everybody is special and everybody wins? You just can't. Start being hard on kids again. Make them pull weeds and mow the lawn before they get their allowance. Teach them responsibility. That's the problem with these people, IMO. It's not just drugs.

Bring them some more meth. They probably aren't very hungry. Jonathan Brown wrote: I'm going to head down there and give them some food.

Must be cleaning day. The cops keep circling and the tweakers packed up a bunch of their shit and left. (People chatting online says the city kicks them off the sidewalk 3 times a week to throw away garbage and clean up the feces.) One guy is carrying a tent and another has a twin mattress on his back. Looked like another guy was dragging a body in a recliner down the street. Now Lt Dangle is pushing all of the garbage into a pile.
