Just topped 1,600 people watching. They are camped out one block down the street now. The water truck didn't come by yet today and they are leery of setting back up at the old spot in case it does come by. City cleans up M W F around 8 AM
Looks like they are rolling their carts back.
Now with music in a loop. Owner made a song 'Wasting Away Again in Fucking Tweakerville'

Way too many fucking idiots in the chat for it to even be funny any more. Its just a huge clusterfuck. But the video on a big screen is still entertaining.

All the local news channels have covered it. Probably see it on Jimmy Kimmel next week. Cops have been out at least three times today, took away a hooker. Some of the regulars have moved on. http://www.king5.com/news/local/everett ... /463489391

Watched it fro a while. Some dude did the Ghetto Slow Walk in front of a driver and I kept saying don't stop, don't stop. A truck went scooting through and a couple of morons on bicycles were doing figure-eights in the middle of the street.
Maybe we can recruit one of those people that likes to drive his car down the sidewalk through a crowd. Clean out a measurable percentage of Everett's problem in one trip.

I am surprised by this much hatred. Disgust I understand. A portion of a population is always going to be in distress. I'd guess that the vast majority of these being described made poor life decisions... I'm not sure how they can pull themselves out of the ditch of life or if this is permanent.

They are there because they want to be. 'Hippy Chick's mom comes by every day and gives here food and clean clothes.
There is a mission a block down the street but they don't want to stay there, they want to party on the sidewalk until the sun comes up.

This being WaGuns, the party line seems to be "fuck anyone in any kind of financial or mental distress, unless they're vets".

I am free because I say I am. My freedom is not dependent on any government benefit or piece of legislation. My rights are inherent in the fact that I was born a sovereign being. They are non-negotiable. The government can list them and protect them, but my rights are not theirs to give away.

This being WaGuns, the party line seems to be "fuck anyone in any kind of financial or mental distress, unless they're vets". Hatred? Fuck? No. First of all I don't really hate anyone. And while you might get that vibe, it would be wrong. People do make choices. Not every heroin addict is mentally ill. Not every homeless person has tried and tried to work and sustain. MOST actually made choices. Terrible choices, yes. Forgivable? Of course. But are they trying? Really? Most are NOT. Most don't want the grinding work that we all must go through. So it's not "hatred" or "fuck" them. It's a total disgust for a system that encourages this behavior. Read the posts more carefully. Find the thread about homeless people being allowed to park anywhere. I'm sorry, but we do have a say. If the decisions are use to tax dollars, we have a say.

We're on the same page regarding misuse of tax dollars and policies that might encourage this. I read the posts carefully. There is a hatred there by my way of thinking... I am not sure what else to call it when someone receives pleasure or humor at the suffering of others.
I am not picking on anyone here- so no need to be defensive about it I don't think. My comment was genuine surprise. People who have to live in close proximity to these camps probably have a much more real understanding than I do. I'm confident of that. It's easier to find solutions in a boardroom than in real life.

Something's up. One group hunkered down in their newly built tarp tent, and the rest all cleared out, sidewalk almost empty. The 'Mayor' is down sweeping the sidewalk with a whisk broom. Maybe the water truck is coming.
Cops come by and give them an hour or so warning.
