Last year, the Philadelphia City Council voted to place an excessive tax on soda to help fund pre-kindergarten education.
This tax was implemented in January and several problems have already emerged.
According to the Tax Foundation:
The tax, which is 24 times the state excise tax rate on beer, has received mixed reviews among constituents. Some Philadelphians support the tax for the programs it funds. Meanwhile, local business owners and workers have filed lawsuits against the tax.

Your tax has driven business out of the city and while increasing alcohol within the city.
