If you can articulate your viewpoint and back it up with facts, I'd appreciate it, even if I disagree. Might make you some enemies, but at least you'll know who they are.... Things won't change if everyone keeps saying how great everyone is doing....

I'm just making up a scenario to match the Google situation. I don't have any beef with WAGUNS.

Just a counterpoint. I know WAGU isn't on your shit list. Just saying thay reasonable and constructive input on an issue that impacts livelihood and work environment shouldn't be met with hostility. This guy did his research and quoted statistics, and actually agreed with the end goal, but disagreed with the implementation.

Firing or having someone banned for wanting to improve a process.. Is.. Well.. Sounds like a shitty manager who doesn't want to change because he implemented the policy...

I like that this is blowing up in Googles face. There are tons of Google employees coming out of the closet and shaming google for their actions.

And yesterday and today at the office, I saw people who I KNOW agreed with James -- seriously, I have it in writing, these are my friends -- tell their coworkers what a shame it was that people shared "sexist" thoughts like those, and how they "just wanted a diverse work environment."

They are lying with a grimace and nobody outside our chats knows. They blend right in.

And I don't fault them for it. They just want to get paid. They just want to be able to do their jobs without being shamed, fired, and publicly eviscerated in the media.

This comes to mind, this is exactly what is happening now.
