HVAC Technician

My oldest son was recently hired by a large HVAC company in the Puget sound area. He starts in a couple weeks.
He had been working at a dealership for 3 steady years right out of high school.
They pay for his training and apprenticeship (on the job work).
Sounds like a good gig! Money is not too shabby either.

Anyone else in the business that has some tips to offer him?
Tools, what's he gonna need?

I'm a framer and the first guys behind me are usually HVAC, so from what I can tell all he needs is a sawzall, a sledge hammer, and a bad attitude.

They destroy in a day what took me a month to make perfect.

Seriously though. He should get the bare minimum to go to work and borrow what he can till he finds what he likes. I'm not super particular about tools but I've been using the same model of saws and nail guns for the past 20 years. The same actual saw and nail gun for the past 15.
