Why would you go uphill during a fire, even upwind? Fires race up hills and crawl down them.

Yeah, I had the same thought.

I do occasionally break a nail, though, so the uphill tip will be helpful in the future. :thumbsup2:

Same.

Assuming we're right, it seems only 3 of 10 waguns members who posted in this topic would survive a fire in the woods.

^^^ Bah, beat me to it.

The answer to everything is 42, of course. (At least that's what Douglas Adams says.) I mean, really, in the event of a full-on nuclear attack, 42 will probably be as useful as anything else. :thumbsup2:

Exactly. That was my first thought when I read the title of the thread.

Turns out FEMA has more than one answer to everything, although I think "42" would work, too.

Spent 9 1/2 hours in the classroom and in lab modules and all I can say is, I hurt in places I didn't know existed. PT, feel like road tripping out to Bellevue?

Side note: My CERT "buddy" for the lab modules? Alex Morcos, a really sweet older gentleman who happens to be the mayor of Medina. Best quote, after I said that there wasn't enough money in the world to convince me to take his job even for a day: "Yah...we have a lot of citizens who are accustomed to giving directions, to giving orders, and having them followed. That's not how government works."
