Trump was elected because he was different than the entrenched political class. The fact that they are using the levers of government to go after him in ways that they never went after the political elites is absolutely relevant to this discussion.

You can not even wrap your mind around the possibility that Trump or his team may have done something illegal? A real patriot would at least suss out the facts of the case. If he did no wrong, then he has nothing to worry about. I hope that he or his team did no wrong. I want Trump to succeed as president, and not fail. Although he is a DB i still believe the country needs leadership. Let's let the facts come out as they are dug up by the proper authorities. Seems reasonable to me.

Except he's been investigated for over a year, and by some counts, 18 months. If there was something there they would have found it, or they are too inept to investigate anything. Obama poured the resources of multiple law enforcement organizations into this. Mueller has a huge team of dozens of people. What is taking so long?

It's clear this is political. The jury was impaneled in DC despite many reasons not to have it there, many of the investigators are DNC donors, etc. If they wanted the public to trust the outcome of the investigation it would have been:
-done by now
-done by NON-partisan investigators
As it is, it is tainted.

It's clear they want to drag the investigation to the 2018 midterms or maybe all the way to 2020. Completely ridiculous. If and when Trump wins reelection they will probably try dragging it to 2024.

People are guaranteed equal treatment under the law as well as speedy process. Trump has received neither. Meanwhile real crimes are being ignored for this facade.

Are you saying that law enforcement is partisan? FBI, CIA, NSA? They are the agencies doing the investigations, and not the DNC. You don't trust our law enforcement?

It's clear the Obama admin's law enforcement and intelligence agencies were highly partisan and highly dishonest and the holdovers in them probably still are.
Look at Eric Holder, first AG to be held in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over documents about the Obama admin's illegal gun running operation and how it went wrong and lead to the deaths of US law enforcement personnel.
Look at Loretta Lynch, as AG she met with the husband of a subject of an investigation and then turned around and asked the FBI to not call it an investigation.
Look at DNI Clapper who lied under oath to Congress that Obama was not spying on Americans.

No one disputes those. Obama weaponized the law enforcement departments and intelligence agencies. He weaponized the Social Security Administration and IRS. He weaponized the EPA. There was a common theme through his Presidency which is that he used the government to go after the political opposition and he packed the federal bureaucracy with people who firmly believed in this approach, why is why we are in Leak-a-palooza right now.

And how do we know for SURE that Obama weaponized intel and le? Because he waited 8 long years to increase the pool of people allowed to see raw signals intelligence. If it was that important he would have written that executive order in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 or 2015. I see a problem with the way this investigation is being carried out. Supposedly, it's a criminal investigation, which would lead me to believe that the subject of the investigation (in this case, POTUS) is suspected of having committed an actual crime. That is to say, there is at least one federal criminal statute that he is believed to have violated. To date, not one person that I'm aware of has pointed to the federal criminal statute of which Trump is accused of violating. So this vague investigation that is looking for any kind of wrongdoing is akin to a police officer walking up to your house, handing you a warrant that authorizes the search of your residence for illegal drugs, and then proceeding to search for evidence of drugs and other criminal activity in your vehicles, your vacation home, your rental property, your RV, your public storage locker, your work space, etc. In other words, the scope of this investigation is far too broad, and it needs to be reigned in. Spell out the suspected crime, including the statute, and conduct the investigation within that scope. None of this "Trump or his team may have done something illegal" crap. I'd say the same for anyone else regardless of their political stripe. What I think this is is political opposition research masquerading as a non-partisan criminal investigation.

I'm not saying necessarily that Trump committed a crime, as he may be completely innocent. What I find strange is the people around him seem to have too many ties to Eastern block countries. Manafort, Flynn, Eric Trump... If The Don is innocent, then awesome. I don't wish bad fortune upon our country by inciting hatred against our president. I just want to know the truth.

Guilt by association is not guilt. If it was then Hillary would be indicted and convicted for her associations with Ukraine, Saudi Arabia and Morocco.

We also don't even know for sure that Russia had anything to do with it. So far no IP trace logs or network activity have been posted by the intel agencies. The same intel agencies that got caught in the v a u l t 7 dump as having secret hacking tools that could allow them to hack something and make it look like the Russians did it. The same intel agencies that lied under oath to Congress via DNI Clapper. Now why should we trust them that Russia did it when they present no credible or unique evidence?

Does anyone here dispute that Clapper lied under oath about spying on Americans? No.
