The world I was born into................. could you imagine the hollering and whining if this happened today? It would be a national catastrophe by today's press.
One thing you may notice in the article is that there is no mention of a Catholic Church. These types of articles were common in local papers when I was a kid. We were Catholic. I asked my mom once why no Catholic Churches were mentioned, feeling a bit slighted.
My mom said something like, "Catholics know where to go to church, we don't need to read where to go."
...ahhh, the simple days.
