They can still bring it!
Great show at the Clink, those guys haven't lost anything. 2 hours and 15 minutes of some new, mostly classic Metallica.
What a show! My first time to the Clink, along with maybe 50,000 other people and they rocked the house.
This was reliving my 22 YO daughters first concert 9 years ago when i took her and a couple of her friends. Concerts have come along way from when i was young, shit is all civilized now. Ushers, Cops in the venue and a free for all are gone now.
Lots of grey hair there, as well as some (very) young kids.
People next to us had what looked like 6 and 8 YO boys.....i don't get that at all, they did not look happy.
Good time, who else went?

Glad you had fun!
I agree, 6 or 8 year olds seems a bit odd. I mean, if your kid was really into music, and shared your enthusiasm, maybe, but even then.
If the kids were unhappy, parents should have bailed.

I was there also. I took my 16yr old daughter for her first "real" concert. Its my 5th time seeing Metallica. Still put on a great show!
Shit is very different in the shows today. Back in the day it was chaos @ a metal show. Now it's all PC, mosh pit is a joke & everyone is holding their phone recording.
I was at the fence on the floor stage right the whole show my daughter got a pick from Robert Truilio.

My wife and I had a blast too. Thought the show was great. As for kids being there, there were a few near us too. But compared to other shows I've been to this was fairly young kid friendly. Maybe not some of the videos, but language wise.

We were there on the floor, I took my wife and 17 Year old Daughter (Never again lol) I had a blast and loved every minute of it as for my wife and kid I'm gonna go ahead and say NOPE.
I have been to many Hard Rock Shows over the years and dealt with some crazy shit and it was a pretty common thing to get smashed into or shoved as well as other stuff as it comes with the territory, but last night it was pretty lax and everyone was very courteous, I was shocked.
When they did "One" that was awesome, I'm shocked they did "Whiplash" but it was badass and better than their last Show at Key Arena IMO.

Was on the fence but tickets were too expensive. Glad the show was great - I'm optimistic about their future with their apparently good new CD. I don't yet have it but heard one song which sounds rockin!
Metallica was once my favorite band, with their first 4 albums. Since 1991 they haven't produced more than a couple good SONGS in my view.
Saw Metallica twice - 2002 and 2005 in Denver. Both shows were amazing. But it was mostly their old stuff. No interest in hearing a mash of Load/Reload/St Anger garbage. I just have NEVER liked Metallica's bassist Trujillio - he is terrible and not even close to as talented as Burton or Newsted.
Again, glad everyone had a good time. I'll catch them next time when tickets aren't $200....
By comparison, I saw Megadeth for like $40 in 2016, and Megadeth has far surpassed Metallica in quality of music in the last two decades.

I was considering going but was worried it would be mostly Black Album and newer.
Was there a decent amount of Ride the Lightening, And Justice For All and Master of Puppets?

I feel the same way! I have no interest in their stuff from 1992-2016... I can't think of a single great song, frankly.

You also have to consider that they've been playing for 30+ years, and their fan base aged with them. Yeah they picked up new blood along the way, but I saw more 40-50somethings then I was expecting. I can't see that age group doing much head banging for that long of time.

I had a few buddies go to the show last night who were live streaming it on social media. I plugged in my phone, propped it up, and watched it while I worked remote from home
