Which of these two providers do you choose and why? Century link is over half of the cost, so is it worth the switch for internet only? Sound off please!!

If I could get Century Link I would....I Fucking HATE Comcast.
Bills that creep up every month and lots of fee's.
I pay over a 180 a month for expanded basic cable and 50mbps speed.
They SUCK!

Century Link offers me 3mbit/s DSL. Comcast offers 100mbit/s and faster internet. Century Link doesn't qualify as broadband for me.

Now if they offered me fiber, I'd drop Comcast in a heartbeat.

I have every pay channel (except the Latin ones), 2 X1 boxes, and >250 mbps speed and pay less than that.
Need to work them. Customers are leaving in droves, and Comcast WILL deal.
Call them up, pick the option to cancel or remove services and you will get a 'retention team member'.
Tell them you just can't afford to pay that much. They will try and cut your services but you want them to just cut the price, not service.
They'll steer you into a better package if they think you will really drop them.
Mention Direct TV or FIOS deals (do your homework, they have all of the competing offers on their cubicle partition).

I know it shouldn't be like an Iranian carpet bazaar where you have to negotiate price but that's how it is.
They'll charge whatever they think you will pay.

Edit: Bump in speed doesn't cost them anything, they will usually do it for free.
Adding pay channels, they actually have to slip a couple bucks to the provider.

I get 65+ mbps 4G through T-mobile as a backup to the Sonic Wall in the rare instance Comcast goes down.
Telling a client I can't connect to their network due to a problem on my end isn't an option.

I wish I could get Comcast here in the boonies. Centurylink states 1.5Mbps but it's usually about 250Kbps and drops out about every 10 minutes for a minute or more at a time. Absolutely pathetic.

I am in the process of getting fiber installed. Don't ask how much it costs...though I could build a nice AR with the check.

I'm inside the city of Bellingham and they are installing fiber optic for me.

Wait, what? You moved back to the goat farm? I thought you were the Commodore for a yacht club in T-town?

(When you going to introduce me to the stick-girl's sister?)

Oh yeah... interwebz. Got neither of the two but I do have FIOS from Frontier. It has recently begun to slow and hitch.

The stick girl's sister is back in mother Russia. The sanctions make her a little out of reach. Sorry man... And yes sir, I'm back in the 'Ham. I hated Tacoma/Federal Way all over again. Doesn't hold a candle to life here in Whatcom County.
