.223 jacket insertion and extraction

Fri Aug 11, 2017 4:42 pm

***VIDEOS CONTAIN BLOOD AND SURGERY***

One of the people I sub to did a video about a month ago and caught some back splash in his left elbow.
Today he uploads the no-doc extraction attempt and then shows the object at the end of the pro doc procedure.
Sometimes you have to think about these things during a shtf. There will be no pro services available.
I got to learn about scar tissue and how it grows onto foreign objects in the body. The longer you wait to get it out, the harder it is to extract. I also learned that it is good to have an assistant hold the gauze and irrigate. This allows the operator both hands to cut and extract. That guy was trying to do it all himself. I don't think he irrigated often enough either.

No brame, no pain...

A little tilt to that steel and he might not have gotten hit...maybe.

Would have been nice to see the nurse  and her sewing the wound shut (if they, indeed decided to close it. Do they usually allow such wounds to remain open to drain?)

I've seen vets do a drainage tube but, I have not seen a human version yet. I don't know enough about medical stuff yet to even speculate.

Well that's what you get for shooting steel with an AR at 10 yards.
