Entitlement is thick these days.

The ANTIFA folks that tore down statues yesterday are going about it the wrong way.

The Charlottesville statues that were slated for removal by the city were to be removed legally, though that process is not yet complete as the City Council had voted to remove the statue but opponents of that move had sued:

"But in February, the City Council voted to remove the statue from the park. Opponents of the move sued in March, arguing that the city did not have the authority to do so under state law. That court case is continuing, and the statue has remained in place." I think that everything was moving as it should have done until this Spencer fellow organized this march.

Exactly my point. These people do what they want, when they want, and destroy whatever they want just like ISIS.

Time for a drone strike on the next Antifa gathering

Yeah. I saw that this morning. Not smart to escalate things this way. It virtually guarantees that the next rally, one way or another, is going to end in violence.

This - is a clusterfuck, being fanned into open flame by disinformation, really bad media reporting, and someone driving an agenda.

A permitted gathering by some right wing groups to protest the removal of some old statues gets overrun by leftist thugs who were stashing bats, clubs, rocks, cans, and other nasty riot worthy gear around the vicinity of the park for days in advance of the rally.

The police are ordered to stand down and retreat as the groups clash, and let it turn into a full blown riot.

The car event appears to have been rehearsed a couple of days in advance, and the driver is either an avowed leftist, or a right wing whack, depending on where your news comes from.

The right wing groups are painted as dangerous radical white supremacists.

Sorry, one asshole in a KKK clown suit, and a couple of fresh from the wrapper nazi flags heavily featured in media reporting does not make all participants dangerous radical white supremacists.

Were there some fruit loops participants ? Yes, definitely, and most importantly, the vast majority of them appeared to be Left wing radicals looking to create an incident.

Is every Democrat or Hillary voter a dangerous ANTIFA loot and burn rioter ? No.

Is every Trump voter a dangerous radical white supremacist ? No.

This country needs to stop being run like a rented mule by media, and the powers that be shaping the narrative.

Ordinary people have to tell lunatic fringe dwellers to fuck off, and if they won't, hog tie them, and leave them for the cops to sort out.

This situation turned ugly because some one wanted things to burn - the authorities have some explaining to do. So does the mainstream media.

Can someone explain to me the want for Confederate statues anywhere in the Union?

The south was wrong, the south lost, and there is no heritage to take from it. Other than the idea that "you fuck with our main source of economy, we are going to be super pissed."

I think it's more the want to not destroy items of historical significance over hurt feelings.

How about this concept, leave history alone regardless of how terrible it shows our past? If nothing else, we can point to history and say "See? This is how we were then..." and learn from it.

regarding the removal of statues, this organized Alt Left group will continue to chip away....Give them a penny, they'll take a lincoln!

Established, and historical statues I can agree too.

I am all for statues that go "Look at where we went wrong. Lets not do this again." NOT: Here is our hero general, cut down by the scurrrge of the north!

Maybe we should tell the Japanese to take all those shit monuments down. They lost! WTF! Who do they think they are? Shame on them for remembering that for which their fathers and grandfathers fought and died. Shame on them for acknowledging the losses in their past and what led to them.

So.... Japan is now located in the US? Got it.

Had you actually taken some time to craft a reply, you could have said a King Louie Statue in France. Or a monument in China about the Mongols.

Heritage to some, tyranny to others. Depends which side of the gene pool you came from down there. Racially divisive statues should be reconsidered democratically through voting. This was the case in Charlottesville. These reminders of history still bring unrest 150 years later. Why? Because they are absolutely divisive objects to a large portion of Americans. Seems that we tend to forget that we are all still Americans, whether you identify with the 'right', or the 'left'. Divided we fall kids.

You implied the South's loss left them with no heritage and no stake to retain their monuments. How Japan isn't a fitting analogy is completely beyond me.

Japan is a separate country. What Japan does has no bearing on what we do and are as Americans.
