That's a good point... The racism in the USA's effort to beat the Japanese was off the charts. I have many books written during and right after the war.
The Japanese were called all sorts of names that would make us in our modern times gasp in disbelief if they were used in public or on the air or in popular print today.

Therefore our war was a racist war? The utter ridiculousness of revisionism when used for scrubbing purposes...
Tearing down statues by mob-rule only seems acceptable immediately after a hated tyrant's fall from power... That is an OPINION and off the cuff. I remember feeling some sympathies for the Iraqis who tore down their deposed tyrant's images. Also the Libyans.
After a certain amount of time and pigeon droppings I sort of feel some historical bonding with a statue even if it is of someone who I do not respect.

I used to really like this lady. Still do like her. But I have had a nagging feeling the past couple of years that her pancakes are slowly slipping off her platter.

That said, she still makes some pretty good points. Even if I don't agree with some of them...

Nails on a chalk board listening to her. I made it to 2 minutes, couldn't go any longer.

:ROFLMAO: Same.
I watched/listened to her a few times and think like Selador. She has some good points, but appears to be slipping over into the Crazy Auntie stage.
Even Crazy Aunties make good cookies though.

Yeah I couldn't go any longer than 2 minutes with your first wife either.

I completely understand all the sentiments expressed. (Disincluding the seeming perpetual habit of some to make everything into some kind of twisted sexual inuendo.)

However I made the post because she makes a few good points. Points that I and others here have expressed before. But which seem to have been lost in this thread.

This thread has gone down the rabbit holes of history and racism.

Interesting enough, one of the points I wanted to make could be summed up as "are we so quick to forget even recent history"?

BLM and ANTIFA are all about violence. They are not the victims here. Some lone kook, though, has given them the perfect victim card. You can't blame them for playing it. But you are blind if you don't see it for what it is.

Not many of those on the side of keeping the statue were racist organizations. Some were there, yes, but that doesn't make all of them racist.

Regardless, the fact is they had permits. They had gotten those permits weeks ahead of time. They were the only ones legally there, to rally.

They were peaceful.

They were forced from their intended and legal routes, by the police. Who intentionally herded them through gauntlets of BLM and ANTIFA. (Then made haste to exit the scene as fast and thoroughly as possible when fights broke out.) (BLM and ANTIFA had hidden bats, sticks, clubs, and other weapons in bushes and various other places, in the days prior to the rally. Things they could grab once in the thick of things, and use as weapons.)

Even after being attacked by BLM and ANTIFA, most remained peaceful.

ONE took it upon himself to ram the crowd with a car.

Because of one moron... Now it's all about those poor protestors, and how they were only trying to get rid of a hateful racist statue.

Did you know that General Lee actually wrote that slavery was morally and ethically evil?

Just heard Komo News Radio bring regular RINO commentator Randy People on to bash Trump and say that Trump was no true Republican and that Trump should resign.

Yeah, Randy Pepple, the smart guy who ran the McKenna campaign and spent the whole time kicking his base in the face (McKenna got less votes than Rossi) and devoted tons of energy to "democrats for McKenna" has the balls to talk about being a "true Republican." As Trump would say, Randy's just a loser.

The media is going nuts right now thinking they FINALLY have a narrative on how to defeat Trump and they think that if they call him a racist over and over people will believe it. How'd that work in 2016? And all because Trump denounced the white supremacists AND pointed out that the alt-left premiditated violence of their own by bringing clubs and other weapons to the protest and then engaging in violence.

2020 election will be more schadenfreude of crying news people.

Make no mistake, antifa's core is Marxist. The nutjobs posting on the internet will deny it or say it's just labeling or some other BS, but they are smart and violent.

“It is 2017, and now is the time for us to have a conversation about removing the last vestiges of that type of hatred and that type of vitriol toward minority communities in Georgia,” Abrams told Channel 2's Richard Elliot.

Oh there's hatred and vitriol, all right. Only it's coming from the gubernatorial candidate's office...
