VJ Day History 8/15 and 9/2/1945

Just thought I would share a picture of a grouping that I put together about two months ago. The Wood is actually a piece of Missouri's deck. Port Side Middle. The two pins are self explanatory.

Missouri Memorial Association back in 2009. They had a few with C of A's for sale. I couldn't pass it up. I picked up both the MacArthur Pin and Wainwright pin at The War Front in Kirkland for $20. I thought the pairing would be pretty cool. Wainwright was a big hero hence the big pin after he came back from the Philippines after being imprisoned. The MacArthur "Win or Die" pin is from his attempt to get elected president in probably 1948. I haven't found any earlier ones yet.
