Raise your hand if you've never gone 100mph on a public road. I'll have to keep mine down.

I thought it was Techno from the start but I recognized it wasn't in a parking lot.

leadcounsel wrote: http://jalopnik.com/5649777/charges-thr ... r-on-video2010 Maryland plain clothed cop, almost exact same situation as the current case. This became a national wire-tapping case. The prosecutors went after the biker (and lost) for his infractions. Biker did win his traffic infractions but to my knowledge the cop wasn't sued or fired. How did it turn out for Maryland State Police trooper Joseph Uhler? Fine. To my knowledge not suspended, fired, or sued. In fact a few years later he ran for political office... http://ceciltimes.com/2013/04/state-tro ... p-primary/ Maryland and other states have long tried to use wiretapping laws as a way around catching cops doing stupid shit.. 'We'll drop the felony wiretapping if you plead guilty to disorderly conduct and reckless driving'.... Utter BULLSHIT... Regardless of what happened or will happen to any cop pulling their weapon when not warranted, I can tell you what SHOULD happen.... Citizens should take it upon themselves to take the threat at face value and protect themselves... The type of corrupt bullshit of charging someone with a crime to intimidate them, or punish them for making a public official look like an idiot, should be met with swift action.... To have a cop who not only overreacted, but also intentionally charged an innocent man as an act of coercion, deserves no less than a tyrants death... I found a cop sitting and 'talking' to female officer, on duty, at 2am, in an unmarked car, in an empty Safeway parking lot... So, I took a pic..... Dude hopped out the car, asked me 'What the fuck' I was doing, then demanded ID, I refused, he demanded my camera, I refused... He broke out the handcuffs and said he was gonna arrest me for disorderly conduct, I put my hands behind my back and told him to, because I'd own his house by the time I was done with him, then female officer steps in and calms down officer dipshit... So, YEAH, I tend to take shit like this REALLY seriously... Fucking with a mans freedom, threatening violence, etc, is a threat that should be dealt with immediately. To sit there and say 'nothing happened to that cop, in fact, he ran for office', doesn't tell me that his actions were OK, it tells me how fucked this system is and how people need to stand up for themselves and put officials on notice that WE run this shit, not them...

NWGunner wrote: Being wrong has never stopped him..... Just gonna leave this hear and I doubt some people are man enough or have the stones to actually admit they are wrong... Not holding my breath. leadcounsel wrote: Um, yeah. Okay. I see some problems on BOTH sides of the equation.
This reminds me of so many of the one-sided videos where folks get up in arms because they don't see the first punch, just the retaliation.
Sure it's easy to beat up on a plain clothed detective for his handling of a stop and then not issue a ticket. But traffic stops are not the primary role of a plain clothed detective and my educated guess is that the stuff that happened (quite conveniently) off the motorcyclists video were so egregious and reckless that this detective felt the stop was necessary.
I'll also note -
1. First video scene is the bike apparently slowing down at 49mph. I don't know the speed limit right there but that looks like a 4 lane and residential area so my guess is that the biker is in fact somewhat marginally at least speeding.
2. We don't see the biker turn on the camera, and I'd bet dollars to doughnuts his reckless speeding is in fact on the (quite conveniently) not recorded, or rather deleted part of his memory card. The police should subpoena that immediately and forensically review it.
3. I'll grant that the drawn gun is excessive - UNLESS however the cop had been following this biker who has zero situational awareness. The cop parked behind him with his lights on, and managed to walk up to him with a drawn weapon. That is obvious poor driving skills for any motorist, which counters any "I'm a great driver" argument he might have. We can safely assume this cop was behind him for some distance with lights engaged, to the OBLIVIOUS motorcyclist.
4. I'm not saying the cop was right to do what he did. The drawn gun, being grabby for the ID, escalating a situation without identifying himself, etc. Very poor behavior. But that also says to me, that like so many total A$$HAT drivers and motorcyclists, they need to lose their license to drive. In the last month or two I've seen two extremely dangerous maneuvers or more that put many cars full of people at risk.
5. I doubt this motorcyclist did nothing to warrant such a stop. The cop said he was doing 100mph and driving recklessly, endangering others. Is there anyone who doubts this, based particularly on the nature of the confrontation and stop?? In that location, that's probably double the speed limit and the cop should have arrested him and booked him and effectively cut up his license. I see not doing that as one big mistake for this detective.
6. I love how the motorcyclist pretty much lies or fabricates and then blames us "lay people" who are uncomfortable with his professional motorcycle skillz weaving in and out of traffic at double the speed limit. He's a douche and a moron and probably did what the officer alleged.
I guess if drive like a crazy a$$hole and put folks at risk, then be prepared for a cop to shove a gun in your face... I suppose this is why memes are so popular for those that can't read... they like pictures with simple words.

This is NOT how I want LE to behave, PERIOD! If we don't speak up, and and let our voices be heard, and say that this kind of bullshit must stop, it won't stop. IF, this was legal and within the cops proper use of deadly force, it shouldn't be. Looks like a classic case of small penis big gun. I don't like what is becoming the norm with LE. If a LE officer defends this kind of response he needs retrained or fired. My idea of LE is to keep the peace, not to intimidate with lethal force as some kind of deterrent.
