Anybody remember playing this? The PC video game that stole a lot of sleep from me back around '92.

Hell yhea. Back in the days of the 386 with the turbo button and my Commodore 64!

I played it on my 386DX and it had an 40 meg HD and 4 megs of RAM, a Voodoo 3D card, and a Soundblaster. It's so funny....our CELL PHONES have more power nowadays.

Our kids's FAKE cell phones have more power.

Maybe it was because of the newness of the genre, but games back then were so much more fun. Graphically they sucked, but the gameplay was unique. Nobody had done it before. I met John Romero once, and that game bought him some pretty cool houses and cars.

One of my favorite games of all time is and always will be DOOM. What a great FPS.

Doom was great. It was Wolfenstein 3D on steroids. And when they started with ceilings and non squared off level designs. One of the games that forced you buy upgrade your hardware!

I also spent many hours playing this. It was a great combat flight game. Pretty real gameplay, and a huge BBS community of SWOTL guys who were doing plane mods.



Notice "HARD DRIVE REQUIRED" lol.......you couldn't just play it off of the floppy disk!!!

OMG! I remember that game. I loved the flying wing!

I had somewhere around twenty 3.5 floppies with plane mods on them. We used to up the speed, add more engines, more guns, etc. to the planes. Change the paint, make custom missions, etc....

It's the only flying game that I am really disappointed that they didn't come out with a re-issue, with modern graphics. It was a solid game, and the flight model didn't insult your intelligence like most games.

I loved this game - it was one of my favorites of all time! I too am disappointed that there is not a more up to date version of this game.

I heard a rumor a couple years ago, that they were going to do it. But some corporate BS got in the middle of it, and screwed things up.

It was such a "pure" combat sim. No BS. Just great air combat. And all the plane mods were fun to mess with.
