This morning, I got everything out to mount a scope to my AR-10. Leveled the rifle, positioned the mount, mocked the scope up in the mount, leveled the scope, etc. Then, I decided to do one last check before I put Loctite on the screws and tightened everything down. Well, it turns out the diopter adjustment is worthless beyond 6.5x magnification (scope goes to 14x). No matter what I tried, I could not get the sight picture to focus at any distance beyond 6.5x. I know it used to work fine because I tested it before I acquired it from the previous owner. I called Primary Arms and explained the issue (this scope just came back from having a chipped ocular lens repaired, so perhaps in the process of fixing one thing they messed up another), and they said they'll probably just have to give me a replacement scope.
So... Good news: I'll get a brand new scope. Bad news: I won't get to go shoot my rifle this weekend like I had planned. |

Depending on what's happening in WA at the end of my contract I might stop in ID, or another state. Either way I will still be a regular presence on waguns until I get banned.
