Good news bad news, as you know after talking with you yesterday, the good news is Im back in WA state for the week-end to see the kids. The bad news is, traffic coming off Snoqualmie pass hasn't changed. Felt like I was in a stock car race, people boxing each other in, cars passing 90 mph in the right lane only to slam the brakes when they realize there is a slow semi in front of them. I certainly don't miss this shit show traffic!

Good news: Won an auction for a car I wanted. Bad news: Instrument cluster doesn't work (known issue) so unknown mileage. Good news: Got it pretty cheap, relatively speaking. Bad news: It's an auction, so everything is a gamble. Good news: Not a police car, so it's got 2.73 RAR = ~20MPG mixed, and 25+MPG hwy. Bad news: Not a police car, so single exhaust and open diff. Good news: Owned and operated by a major airline so probably had a life as a glorified taxi taking flight crew to/from hotels before/after flights. Bad news: Can't get it until probably Mon. at earliest because they want a wire transfer and won't let me pay by card.
I can't say I've ever really been burned at an auction.. in fact, my luck at auctions has been pretty damned good. I've never got a lemon.
I didn't get as good of a deal as I did on my 2011, but my 2011 is also worth far more, so it makes more sense to sell it, cash out the equity, and drive this car as a beater, assuming it's in decent condition.
Wish me luck

Luck!
Wishing you!
Ive done really good on local auctions here these past 3 years. Best part is, you get to touch, feel, examine all items, be it cars or firearms.

This was sight unseen, other than 2 pictures, and being able to run the VIN through a Ford database and other databases for issues. No accidents, last recorded mileage was when it was brand new, in GA...15 years, no accidents...in of itself is a damn miracle... Also no service history at Ford, which means their mechanics probably took care of it, which may be good/bad. These cars don't need much. I got 2 fuzzy pictures and some detective work to make an educated guess...A real roll of the dice. Attachment: 10-20-2022_163600.png

I was hesitant selling my '11 without something to replace it, this gives me that flexibility (hopefully)... As long as it doesn't turn into a big POS..... Theoretically, I bought it cheap enough that even if I have to swap in a new trans it'd still be worth it.
