Haha, yup. You pretty much gotta expect half the people to offer you something lower, and you pretty much need to just accept it or haggle. I think if you have something that truly has value and you don't want to dick around on price, you just need to mark it with "firm" after the price.

I just said no a lot or countered with a price really close to “the” price. Most evaporated post haste…

Bad News: My old floor jack can't get it up any longer and Viagra didn't help. It's a 1½ ton Blackhawk that is over 50 years old. I was walking home from school one day and spotted it in the middle of the road (minus the handle). I tried to carry it but gave up after about a block. So I'm staring at it wondering what to do - how am I going to get this home, another six blocks??? Aha! I took my belt off and tied it to the jack and drug it home. My dad was really excited. He built a handle for it and it's been in the family all this time. I do remember he took it in once and had it rebuilt but don't remember what year that was. Good News: Over here in Spudville, hydraulic repair shops aren't all that common so I decided to try Blackhawk. Sent them an email with pictures of the jack because there are no markings left anywhere on it. A couple hours later they replied. SJ2 REPAIR KIT $41.66 REPAIR KIT FOR AN SJ-2 1-1/2 TON FLOOR JACK. This is cool! Here are the pictures of my floor jack: Attachment: 20210708_110108 (2)_opt.jpg Attachment: 20210708_110053 (2)_opt.jpg Attachment: 20210708_110035_opt.jpg Even Gooder News: Showed the wifey what I was doing and she tells me to just buy a brand new ALUMINUM unit from HF for $85. It only weighs 25 pounds! https://www.harborfreight.com/automotive/jacks-jack-stands/15-ton-aluminum-rapid-pump-racing-floor-jack-64545.html

'merican made Blackhawk is still uber cool and if I go ahead with the rebuild, I know it will outlast me. Hell, I could even repaint it fire engine red again.

I second the motion to rebuild the old one. I also suggest painting it red... White and blue. It WILL outlast you, and when harbor freight type products are all that's left available in this country.... You, or some other proud owner will still be rocking American.

GOOD: I bought an A-Salt-Gun. That thing is a blast to shoot, fun, not really accurate, but good clean fun. Has a safety and couple rules.....slide pump must be fully forward after a pump, must have salt, safety off, etc.......need to be quick when a fly is in range. Recommended.
BAD: Unless maybe within a foot, the pattern is not lethal. Ugg.........the 3.95 HF 2 "D" cell swatters are more deadly. kinda fun and nothing beats the sound and smell and vaporization sparks of a bug at high voltage and enough current.

My brother says that the Bug Assault guns work better with kosher salt --- sort of like buckshot instead of birdshot.

Of the ten voices I hear in my head, only three keep telling me NOT to shoot.... Do I go with the majority or common sense?
