Good: I can see my American flag through the picture window.
Bad: The reason I can see it is because it is at half-mast for the fallen Marines.

Good news. I was mightily entertained yesterday afternoon watching this guy:
This rat would pop under the fence, stand for a few seconds to make sure it was safe, then run down to the bird feeder, grab a mouthful of seed from the ground, and jet back to safety behind the fence. About 30 seconds later, he would repeat the process. Over, and over, and over again -- I probably saw him do it 50 times at least.
The bad news: I have a rat in the backyard. I don't care too much about that, but it's too close to the house for comfort.
For the last couple of days we have had jets - as in F15's & 22's flying overhead... EXTREMLY LOW and FAST. Now I like jets, military stuff but gawd damn, I live pretty much in the city limits far, far away from any flight path and the air base is 40 miles away. Dead silence and then 105db blasting by. Scares the crap out of you when you're not expecting it.

I did see those F22's! We do have a small airport right in town but I've never seen anything bigger than a twin prop fly in & out of there. (I'm an idiot and forgot to check this website)

More bad news coming . . . for him.
Is that a rat or a vole or some other rodent-esque critter?
