At least the ATF agent said they had no records of this type of "ghost gun" being used in a crime. Can't believe they let that statement stay in the segment.

Good piece of logic put forth also. I can't remember who said it, but essentially it went like this: The guy who wants to go shoot up a school probably isn't going to spend the effort required to finish an 80% lower...much easier to just get a gun, even illegally.

Now, they did say there was a concern about 80% lowers getting completed, and sold on the black market. They didn't say what the penalty was if you were caught. My wife's uncle was caught up in an ATF/FBI illegal gun manufacturing/money laundering investigation...not something I'd want to be part of...it caused financial ruin and a suicide.

And they said that these "ghost guns" can't be sold, which I believe is incorrect. It's my understanding that if you develop a serial number scheme, you could sell one. Don't know if that pushes you into the realm of being a manufacturer...

I think a couple more facts could have added some depth.
