It blows my mind ... exactly WHY would these stores be doing this? Do you think their boards of directors are getting threatened?

I worked for Fred Meyers for 20 years and I can tell you they haven`t had an original thought in their heads the whole time. every time an other retailer started something we would start it within a few months. They are just following others lead.

This fits my perception. "Reflective 'optics'"

Kroger surprises me a bit. A few years ago, I seem to recall MDA or someone protesting Freddy's allowing carry, and Freddy's wouldn't cave.

I heard a rumor last night at a gun counter that Arby's and a few other restaurants had put out (or will shortly) a statement that they don't want you carrying in their restaurants. Unsure it true, but I don't think we've seen the last of companies make a statement on the matter.

They will never know if I'm carrying in their restaurants if I even decide to go back in those choke and pukes. If they don't like law abiding and they are dead to me.

Apple should come out with an iGun. Get people to buy a new one every year.

I already do that.

So, guess my guns are iGuns, because it seems I buy one every year.

Except they say Springfield, Mossberg, Ruger......

Support the little shops! Better customer service and competitive pricing at most.

Isn't it ironic that we can't trust an 18 year olds judgement with a gun but we should listen to a bunch of teenagers skipping school to inform our policies and legislative agenda.

Sounds like a money saving plan. Now if I can only get Cabela's to not allow carry when I'm off the clock. icon_eek

Fred Meyer just announced they will discontinue selling firearms and ammunition. I suspect it wasn't a profitable area in the store based on their high retail pricing anyway.

I was in Kirkland Fred Meyer today and they had a sign on the BB gun / airsoft display case saying no sales of firearms or ammo to under 21. This particular store has never sold firearms or firearm ammo so I am wondering if they believe it applies to BB guns and airsoft guns and ammo. Couldn't find anyone in the department to ask.

Ehh it was all about money, I read an article that said they did 7 million in sales devide that buy the 130 stores that carried guns and it come up to a little over a grand a week average. Guns are not a high margin item if they replace the gun area with a higher margin item that sales more than a grand a week they make more money.
