So Russell Wilson is we this we that we stay the course we are a team.....repeat.

Will he pull a Tom Brady and continually restructure a back loaded contract to keep the team able to buy more talent at the expense of his own income—Lombardi before Lamborghini—or will he become the NFL’s highest paid player, salary cap be darned?

I’m awaiting the results.

Comparing apple to oranges....much different situation....

Why?

Different situation in a number of ways....

First, is ownership. Brady & Kraft, the owner, have a father-son relationship....in fact, it's often reported how much closer he is to the owner, than the coach, Belichick, is. He even got Kraft to force Belichick to trade his impending replacement.

That relationship with the owner has given Brady piece of mind that promises made, would be promises kept.

Not only is the ownership here in transition with Allen's death, there is zero influence ownership has on personnel decisions. If Pete & John decided tomorrow that trading Russ is in the best interest of the team, he'd be gone. He's seen it happen to many good players here over the years.

Now, I believe Pete & John have made concessions & promises to Russ because he has completely bought into their system, BUT, it's not the same as having the owner have your back for 10, 15, 20 years...

Secondly, Brady has made over $200 million over 6 huge contracts after his initial rookie contract. This is only Wilson's 2nd big contract, and his first wasn't what it could have been.

Thirdly, on a lot of Brady's sacrifices, he got parts of back the next year after they were converted into restructured signing bonuses. Probably promises made by ownership, that Brady could count on...a luxury Russ doesn't have.

There are other reasons, but that'll work for now :thumbsup2:

I think Russ may compromise some, because he's comfortable, and is in a situation that fits him well, but I don't think he's in a position to offer a Brady-like discount.

I wish I'd played the "drink every time a commercial virtue signals" because I'd have a nice buzz to make up for this snoozer.

Am I seeing a Foles to Rams trade in the works???

Goff's passes are like ducks wobbling in the air...

That end zone pass was terrible & should have been a touchdow, and the pass in the flat to the running back on the next play wobbled just as much, but was only 3 yards.... icon_eek

If you're gonna have an MVP, maybe you need an Awfullest Player award, too,

Not to mention the Rams inability to cover Edelman....Double Team that guy already! Brady isn't plying worth a damn, but the Rams are Playing like the 49er's.
