Not understanding the hype, we've done this since I was in. Hell, our winter survival training was at at Buck Creek in January, about 10 miles past FS 70, in 83' As of more than just few years ago, was still held there. We held shortened SEaR training on farmlands and forest's in upstate New York. I really don't see an issue, training in areas that are unfamiliar and not militarized like a base, gives those protecting our way a life a more modern and realistic training. Besides, it saves $'s from building a training area that becomes obsolete a few years down the road.

They run across the beach just about every morning and the close the beach to civilians when they train with weapons and boats. LOL, I got married on Coronado beach. The bridesmaid was busted checking out a couple of shirtless SEALs running by during the ceremony. The thing is the hotel only "owns" a small portion of that beach. Also it's sort of at the end of an airstrip. I would think that would be more of thing to whine about.

I was a Gunners Mate, worked as an armorer. Didn't run as much as most of the folks. Hahahaha
Buddy of mine in the early 90's was a Navy LT, spent most of his career getting his Masters in Computer Engineering, never been on a ship. Spent his last 6 months in as the XO of a special boat unit.

When I was in we would use the docks at Long Beach to practice landings n our Zodiacs. Always at about 3 AM . We also went to Hawaii and landed then left in the middle of the night on several public places. So WTF training is training.

They should totally involve the public in this.
It would be like an Easter egg hunt except if you catch a SEAL he has to come home with you and mow your yard or something.
