this ties together: President's Trumps Trade Tariffs, discussion about the military calling up retirees and not allowing NCO's on up to separate on time.

Conjecture about China gearing up for war, Russia's possible participation, a three front war and etc

Okay, the first attempt at this thread got derailed, please, let's try to entertain at least some real discussion before the subject changes or the name calling starts.

Has anyone head about the author's assertions that there has been pressure to retain personnel by delaying separation? Or have you heard of any plans to rehire retired officers to assist in training recruits?

Well, unlike the Politicians that call forth Hollywood Stars as experts to testify in open Congress the US Military needs to hear from or employ people that actually have had Military Experience.

Makes sense.

We are the perfect recruits. We can't sleep past 6am, always cranky, and happy to kill something. Don't care if we get killed either, that way my hip won't hurt anymore. I've done most of my biggest adventures by 40. I can supply my own guns, and ammo. Just drop me off with a no limit multi-tag.

Zero buzz about it, and I'm at Ft. Benning right now.

Hey, I drove a M113A1 and then during Desert Storm got upgraded to an M113A2. Medic back then. :thumbsup2:

If you have every "signed" a contract to enlist in the military... there's a clause in there... small print and all. Yes, they can call you. icon_eek

Although to "fit" in a uniform... I may need a maternity uniform :ROFLMAO:

Nothing in the Army Times or early bird report. I certainly haven't seen a push for retention outside of the norm. All the quality retention boards have typical outcomes.

Might be certain MOS have critical shortages (I know the AF is having trouble retaining mechs). That would be nothing new though. These things go in cycles.
