My wife and I have been looking to an Opus pop up. Figured it might be a nice little set up for our small tribe.

I was planning ahead a bit and I found out that some of the national parks that have the possibility of bears won't let you have pop-up softside campers. So that's what kind of drove me to this thing.

Rix, there is one campground at Yellowstone where fabric is not allowed. That's the ONLY one that I know of.

Reading and watching some videos, it seems like there's more in other places a well? Iunno. But the insulation and additional care requirements were a factor too.

Friends of ours just bought a Winnnie Micro , 18ft w/slide, and are heading for Moab as we speak. Only two weeks old so no issues so far except the neat off roady tires were load range B so he traded them off for Cs. I rotated the electric tongue jack 90* for tailgate clearance. Underneath all looked pretty good and clean. Came with torsion axles that were bolted in place. I worked on an Interstate cargo trailer that had torsion axles welded to the frame , now that is as stupid as you get.

The one that I'm (hopefully) getting weighs 3000 lb so it's pretty light. Lots of storage for a little trailer. Conventional leaf spring I think

It doesn't fit under your weight criteria, but we have a Nash 25c and love it. It's a 4-season bunkhouse with slide. I THINK it's about 5.5k lbs. - wood construction and very solid. We looked at a lot of the other brands and upon close inspection you could see a lot of corners cut. I also liked that it's made in OR by same company that owns Arctic Fox. Oh, it also has a TON of ground clearance, meant to be taken off paved roads. Not that we do.

I misjudged my towing capacity. It's 7200, not 5500. So......I could have gone heavier. But I didn't want to. The financing is set up. I go pick it up Saturday afternoon.

Not that I'll be pulling it on trails or anything, just primitive parking spots. Got a pic of it

Very nice Rix! You'll make memories with that trailer!
Our first trailer was 16' long, pulled it with a F150 Ford. We had one kid in diapers and the other just out of diapers. Many good seasons camping. When we outgrew it, we went to a truck camper, then to a Class C. OUr new RV is a 34' 5th wheel we pick up in MN and drive home in 6 weeks!

That looks sweet. Great size too.
I'm glad you didn't post a picture of a jayco. I've heard horror stories about those.
