Maybe tax everyone at 150%?
I'd like to see this plan on paper.

http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/3845 ... -americans

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is set to announce a federal jobs proposal that would guarantee a job with at least a $15-per-hour wage and health benefits to every adult American “who wants or needs one,” The Washington Post reports.

The senator is still in the early stages of crafting the plan, according to the Post, which would provide a job or required training for any American.

Sanders's office has yet to release the details of the plan's funding, but previous large-scale projects proposed by the Vermont progressive have involved ending tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans and large corporations.

Uhhh...
But I already make MORE than that...
Think on that for a bit! It’s socialism after all and many of us make “TOO MUCH” so we should be taxed down to match the income of the lowest common denominator according to Bernie.

Ya, lets let everyone work for the federal government with full benefits.

Reminds me of some spiders I had living in my waterfront cabin in Poulsbo.
No flying insects in the attic but there was a shitload of large spiders.
Figured they must be just eating each other, but that seems to violate a couple laws of physics.

Like Chong making a living selling weed to himself, his biggest customer.

I doubt everyone else will see a pay bump too. The argument that no/low skilled labor is making $15 an hour right out the gate is crap, when people have worked hard to move up to that.

I don't know why anyone even cares what this hack has to say anymore. He should be put out to pasture.

And if a balanced budget isn't passed they have to pay to cover the amount borrowed.

Give them a lawn chair and rifle, set them up on the border.
Or land mine deployment, something useful.

Is there much difference between a $15 an hour Gov flunky and a $40 an hour county pot hole/road technician?

Oh yeah, about $25 and hour.

So he's got a plan to raise inflation on the penny by 1500%?

At base, it sounds good. Instead of welfare, you give everyone a job - instead of welfare (which probably won't happen). Plenty of work that isn't getting done - like picking up trash on the streets or mowing grass in public areas. However, this is the hole:

“It completely undercuts a lot of industries and companies,” Brian Riedl of the conservative-leaning Manhattan Institute told the Post. “There will be pressure to introduce a higher wage or certain benefits that the private sector doesn't offer.”

If I can get a job with full bene's @ $15, why would I work at McD's or Starbucks? Those places will need to raise wages and benefits to keep up, increasing inflation overall.

I've often believed that when you sign up for welfare or food stamps or whatever, they should give you X numbers of hours a week doing public work. This is just a different, and maybe unsustainable, version of that.

If inflation rises that much it will be a never-ending cycle of constantly raising wages as inflation will nullify the purchasing power of every wage increase.
