Good gravy! They will lose a lot of business in areas where bums and junkies congregate. They'll be living in there.
And miss professional double non fat mocha won't go there anymore.
Up the hill from here, the Safeway had to lock the bathrooms with all the junkies hanging out.
Now they can just go across the street and hang out at the Starbucks.
http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2018/0 ... ooms-open/Starbucks executive chairman Howard Schultz now says Starbucks stores will open their bathrooms to everyone, regardless if they’ve made a purchase.
Schultz’s comments follow the arrest of two black men at a Starbucks on Rittenhouse Square last month who had asked to use the bathroom without making a purchase but an employee told them it was only for paying customers. When they sat in the store without ordering anything, the manager called police, and the men were arrested for trespassing. No charges were filed.

Interesting.
I was in Puerto Vallarta two months ago and was charged 1 peso so my wife could use their bathroom.

I haven't seen a pay toilet stall in the US since maybe the mid 70's.

Cost a dime. I think a lot pf people just pissed or shit on the floor.

Have they really been turning down restroom requests, or is this just a one-off PR event? I've never once considered asking to use the bathroom in a Starbucks, and I don't buy anything there. If I need a toilet, I'm not of a mind to ask permission.

It was a movement.....er..........a bowel movement?
The Committee to End Pay Toilets in America, or CEPTIA, was a 1970s grass-roots political organization which was one of the main forces behind the elimination of pay toilets in many American cities and states.

Public bathrooms in the Philippines are free... but if you want to wipe, they charge for a small packet of TP.

Good, now the homeless can just build their little cities right next to Starbuck stores. I see it as a win win!!
So now stores are brow beat to supply amenities to non paying customer's.
I thought it was a complete joke that people could hang out in a store expecting service without buying anything, what is wrong with society?
What will be the breaking point that stores are forced to give away goods to those that are homeless, or those merely asking for something for free?
Fuck this country is dying..

Whatever happen to these?

Isn't this illegal dumping.
Or is it theft of services.

Are you shitting me?

Seriously though was CEPTIA really a thing. I was a kid in the 1970's so these kind of public debates must have escaped my attention.

They will soon hire an employee with an RN background, a key to 'break" into the restrooms in order to do a needle-sweep every hour on the hour and carry Narcan just in case. The liberals feel good when a junkie life is saved. Saved for the next day when they can OD again.
Another chapter of progressive liberalism.

I remember the Greyhound stations in Seattle and Everett having them about 25 years ago. A dime if I recall correctly.
