Incidentally this area around the I-90 corridor was closed to target shooting a few years ago. I wonder if it hadn't if we'd still have lions hanging around the area or maybe they'd have gone further east or north/south.

I don't know if they've said where exactly this happened -- "northeast of Snoqualmie and North Bend" is about the most precise description I think I've seen.

The male cat was around 3 years old and only weighed 100 lbs, so it was underweight by at least 30%. The necropsy will hopefully show if there was an underlying condition or injury that led to its unusual behavior. The witness report was that they didn't startle it on the trail or otherwise do something they shouldn't. They were riding and it came at them from behind while they were in motion, attacking both of them and eventually dragging the one back to its den. They fought back as best they could, shouting and even whacking it with a bike at one point -- all the stuff they tell people to do.

Just an awful situation all around. Someone is dead, someone else is hurt, and the cat itself must have been in misery for at least some period of time while it was essentially starving to death.

It appears gentlemen and ladies that the solution here is simple: cougars are hungry and appearantly a threatened species which is losing valuable habitat due to encraoachment by people. Seattle has an over abundance of an aggressive species of homeless Libtards who right now are reproducing exponentially and have no natural predators to keep the population in check. I propose that they use the head tax money to relocate these poor malnourished cougars to downtown Seattle and it will solve our homeless problem overnight. We might to have to invest in some cougar booties so the cats don’t get needles stuck in their paws stalking their new prey through homeless camps though. And when they get done with the homeless if they feed on some of the idiot populace too that would be good as well.
