The Super Snakes, which start at $249,995, will be built to order in Pennsylvania and will be sold through Shelby American, the release said.

$249k? Good gravy, that's what I paid for the house I live in in 1997 brand new.

Yeah, the REAL ones are more money.

This is one of C Shelbys last debacles....a couple years ago they made a run on the AC Cobra cars.

Shelby American built Shelbys for 3 years. 3 Years only. 1965, 66, 67.

From and including 1968 they were built in a plant in Michigan.

Now we have more "Recreations"?

Have at it....Purists wont buy them.

For a Quarter million dollars I'd rather have a beater REAL 1966 GT350.

BTW from those in the Know....

Spoiler: show
Carroll was a bit of a D-Bag.....Watch the Video/Interview of Holmann Moody on how Carroll wanted to and took all the credit from the GT40 LeMans wins when in real life it was Holmann Moody. He was a business man. Decent Race Car driver but more Bullshitter Salesman

> side note...

Any of you remember when Costco was selling the A/C Cobra replica's for approx. $32,000?
They were on display in front of the exit door IIRC.

Shelby is a name.......yeah I know

But still. The real one IS at the top of my list. I am not a Ford guy necessarily. Not even a Fastback guy. Ford did the smart move for the generic 1967 model. GT500? GTFO. I want one.

$250K starting. What are my choices?

My car is registered through a 1967 Shelby Registry so as to prevent Cloning the car the original Vin Number tie to the Shelby Mfg# is held secret.

When I bought Mine even though the Registrar (who lives in Michigan) knew who owned it before me (because they keep track of these things) had me drill the Shelby tag off the car and read him the actual Ford Vin Tag and e.mail him actual pictures of both sitting in the same photo..he is the only on in the country that has the 1,174 GT350 Ford Vin Numbers and their counterpart Shelby tag numbers. Carroll made him the Guy In Charge of 1967 cars before he died,,,and gave him the Book of Numbers.

Cloning is a HUGE concern.

It took 24 hrs before he got back to me with authentication.

That was a stressful 24 hrs.

Then we went through over the phone what, if anything, I had done to the car since I transferred title.

Dave (registrar) takes his job very seriously.

I being a REAL Shelby owner couldn't give two shits if they found ten bran new 1967 Fastbacks....all ten supersnakes are replicas.

Carroll and Shelby American California only built one...

So? I hate you. That's not enough is it?

I am just honored that I know you through exchange of electrons and photons.

Would you at least laugh at my ass if I shelled out near $300K for a replica?

Could I get a six speed? :ROFLMAO:  :rofl9:

There's nothing keeping you from installing the 6 speed and a 347 ci small block in the quarter million dollar 1966 Hertz beater Shelby.

So long as you don't modify the base car..its all nutz and bolts.

My car is number matching..down to the crank n rods..I haven't floored it since I bought it. But I personally knew the previous owner. One afternoon after I put a new clutch in it he found out I used to drag race. He wanted to feel how fast it'd go when it was speed shifted @ 6000rpm.....I obliged.

This is pretty cool if you were looking for a 'soon to be classic' muscle car....

Those were the top cars until the Impala SS came out a few years later.... I remember drooling on one a dealership when my dad was shopping for a new car....
