Yup that’s the rough area. Mostly welfare and drug addicts there.

Went to park my Harley, didn't have any change for the meter.
Cop was 20 feet away, asked him if he could give me change for the meter.
Said he was not allowed to do that.
Asked him ''I live in Washington, what would happen if I didn't pay the meter and got a ticket?"
He said "Nothing"
I said "Fuck it then" and went into the store.

Next time, probably get denied at the border for an unpaid parking ticket.

Tickets are dealt with differently in Bc than the us. They don’t put warrants for unpaid tickets nor can they really enforce them with people from out of Provence. The way it works is when you go to renew your license you have to pay the tickets. But if you get 3 parking tickets they start impounding your vehicle.

I moved away from there 5 years ago now so it may have changed but I grew up in vancouver.

Maybe Canada is different, but getting legal advice from a cop here doesn't usually work out well.

(Not saying cops don't know the laws they're enforcing, but the legal ramifications later aren't necessarily their forte  )
