According to the article I read, it quoted Kennedy as saying that he wanted to retire at some point. He decided to do it sooner before the elections this fall so that confirmations would still be done with a republican majority.

Seriously. Trump, and his Gorsuch pick, have been amazing. I look back 18 months at the arguments even here with the "never Trumper" crowd who just didn't get it.

Trump will now certainly save the SCOTUS for a generation with 2 guaranteed young Constitutional picks, and Trump might even get as many as FIVE PICKS!!! The vacancy, Kennedy, Thomas (might retire), and the two liberals. In the next 2 or maybe 6 years, Trump could basically seat more than 1/2 the Court!

And so far, Gorsuch as been nearly perfect, and this term the SCOTUS delivered wins on gay cake baking, immigration/terrorism bans, and 1st Amendment protections against mandatory Union (i.e. Democrat fundraising) dues.

A 2nd Amendment case is bound to come up in the next few years and the Court will hit a home run to protect the 2A.

Keep in mind the COLOSSAL errors the Dems made in Obama's 8 years, and Obama only got 2 SCOTUS picks. Obama could have gotten 5! But luck, bad planning, and some stonewalling and maneuvering by the GOP blocked him.

Obama could have stacked the Court and we'd be screwed. We narrowly missed that along with Hillary's election. We are so blessed right now. Now Trump is looking at his 2nd pick in only 2 years. Again, he could get 5 picks in his first term and will almost certainly get 5 if he gets a 2nd term.

Things are moving quickly. President Trump set to announce his nominee by July 9th!!! Keep the liberal tears flowing:
