Just got back to the dock.
Had a nice conversation with the coast guard. One of our wives got worried and called them yesterday morning.

Carnage:
There was a flat piece under the I-beam that these attached to. It cracked apart as well. The mast sits on the I-beam. It was added at some point after the boat was built. It looked like there was some delamination, probably why they added the I-beam.

Looks like that crack has been there for a long time
