I have a pair of these. Wondered if they are worth keeping. I know just enough to know that ‘sometimes’, older is better.

Is five watts even legal anymore?

I'd keep them...you know, for that rainy day when you are running from the zombies and get separated from the kids...

Not Legal? Like FCC gonna come knock down my door and shoot my dog if I key the mike?

I know the pic doesn’t do a good job of size reference, but these things are only slightly smaller than a Vietnam-Era Field Radio minus the backpack. Not a whole bunch else going on if you’re holding one of these lol

Can you still get crystals for those?
My last CB was a Radio Shack 23 channel handheld circa 1986

The capacitors inside are probably shot. May require a recap to function properly or at all.

I'd have to fire them up and see if they worked myself.

I bought one for hunting at radio shack in about 1978, still have it, still works as of about 20 years ago, doubt it has more than an hour use on it.
Even made a leather holder for it, even as a teen it looks pretty damned good. Been holding onto it for novelty reasons, even though it just sits buried in the rest of the shit I've collected and haven't tossed.

What do you hunt there? Bear or cougar?
