Heads up, Fred Meyer has poke on sale for 8.99 per pound. They suck at making poke... but the saving grace here is they are using decent quality wild tuna and it's easily turned into real poke with some sesame oil, Hawaiian sea salt, a little Hawaiian Shoyu and thinly sliced shallots and green onion.
Also a heads up, the Kent Fred Meyer will be out of stock every day this sale is active.

I guarantee you they are using frozen pre cut poke cubes in one pound packs. Ask them if you can buy it still frozen. You will get just the tuna and you can season it any way you like.

Same with their shrimp.
What's in the case is literally pulled out of the freezer with bags of frozen shrimp and dumped in the display case.
Edited to add: what I mean is, it comes from the freezer case where you buy bagged, frozen shrimp.

Boom. I went a little overboard with the fish tonight. But sea bream was a callin.
also you were correct sir, they are using the 1lb cubed frozen packets of wild tuna and the quality looks good so I picked up a few. Thanks for the tip! Hard to beat the price/quality, even back home.

It is a pretty good price. We sell the cubes for $10.99 every day, $9.99 on sale. Buying them frozen eliminates the chance of a half ass seafood clerk fucking things up. Enjoy!

That sucks, maybe try another work shift? Yea the dude at the counter had to go in the far back and pulled some from the freezer for me. He also asked if I want the sauce packets that come with them, choices were Wasabi, Sriracha Spicy, or Shoyu. I took all because I like free stuff

, maybe marinate some chicken or something.
