So where does everyone get their sushi-grade fish?

Looking to make sushi at home, but need a good source.

Last time a fish monger sold my wife 'sashimi-grade" tuna, it smelled pretty bad... So I cooked it thoroughly and fed it to the dog.

It's worth noting that "sushi-grade" is something that only exists in USA. Personally, I just get the freshest fish I can get my hands on.

I think this article covers it well http://www.pbs.org/food/fresh-tastes/myth-sushi-grade/

Winco already sells sushi, ready to go. You might stop in and look/ask what they use.

Wouldn't eat anything "fresh" out of Puget Sound without cooking the meth, anti-depressants and sewage out of it.

As the Seattle Seafood Manager I'm a bit biased but Uwajimaya has the best selection of sashimi grade fish. As much or as little as you like sliced or in trimmed blocks for you to slice yourself.
If you are north of Seattle check out Kazuma Fish Market. One of the Uwajimaya managers just recently opened his own shop in Edmonds and though I haven't been there he has a very good reputation of knowing his seafood.
PM me if you have any questions.

I trust Costco tuna cuts for sashimi and poke. I make my own poke often, I consider Costco good to go. However, their salmon was hit or miss for me.
