I dunno, looks like it was a lot hotter in 1993

https://www.wacotrib.com/news/weather/a ... 330c5.html

Monday was the hottest day on record for Waco as temperatures climbed to 114 degrees just after 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

"Officially and by two degrees, this is the hottest it has ever been in Waco," National Weather Service meteorologist Dennis Cain said.

Previously, the highest recorded temperature was 112 degrees, in August 1969 at Waco Regional Airport. The temperature also surpassed the record high of 109 for the month of July, set on July 12, 1998.

I'm so thankful it cooled down to 97 today. My sympathy level is 0.

I’m from just south of there. It was 110 at my moms house. I don’t miss that shit at all.

Gatesville is west of Waco. I’m from a little town called Rosebud. About 45 minutes or 3 beers south.

Sorry, didn't look at a map...

When I got out of the military, living in Virginia, I gotta call from one of those "I'll always be there for ya" buds....

He needed help ASAP....lived in Gatesville.

He said Waco was an hour south of Dallas, and Gatesville was an hour south of Waco...

I believed him....jumped on a bus....44 hours later, I was in Gatesville....

He never mentioned it was a dry county icon_eek

Found a way around that, though...

Ya, we met a friend in Plano, TX, went to a Mexican restaurant either in Plano or a town over.
Asked for margaritas.....waitress asked for our 'club cards'
I was thinking WTF is a club card?
She handed us blank cards, just pencil your name on the card and they can legally serve you drinks.
Had to drive a bit to get liquor we could bring back to the hotel.
Some crazy shit.

Ya it's been pretty hot here last couple days here in Round Rock (about an hour south of Waco). I got in my black Jetta in the parking lot at work yesterday afternoon and the dash said 114 degrees. Cooled down to 107 once I got under way lol. A bit warmer than normal.

Today it's cooling down to about a hundred degrees where it will stay steady for the next week.

Texas is basically the opposite of Washington. The summer weather is hot and humid, basically sucks for 3-4 months. I just hang out in the A/C venturing out for an occasional IHMSA or pistol match. The rest of the year is pretty nice with mild temperatures and a lot of sunny weather.
