http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-m ... story.htmlDude runs from the cops and shoots at them.LAPD shoots back, not giving a fuck about their backstop, because all they care about is going home at the end of the night, and kill an innocent man in the store. So, lemme say this again. If you don't have a clear shot, you don't shoot. Your job may entail you becoming a bullet sponge. You signed up for it. LAPD shoots @ asian ladies delivering newspapers....no accountability.. They ram a guy off the road on mistaken identity.. No accountability.. They just killed an innocent bystander. Who wants to bet an 'oops, shit happens, here's a couple bucks now go away' is the extent of what happens? I'll be waiting for someone to tell me the cops were in the right for shooting an innocent bystander.. Something something very hard job lots of stress split second decision go home at end of night officer safety something something.. So, what do the top cops think? Quote: “We try to have a clear field of fire, but obviously the suspect has a substantial, even a decisive, advantage if we don’t return fire,” he said. So, 'don't be in the path of our bullets and we won't shoot you, because we don't want to be at a disadvantage'.....

It's easy to armchair quarterback. Tough duty, Tough decision, heat of the moment. They didn't continue to pour rounds into the store...

Problem is to many times the cops get let off when they ignore the basic rules of firearm safety. I know it's a hard job and usually I will give them the benefit of the doubt but this sounds like a basic mistake and failure to follow normal firearm rules that everyone of us are and should be held accountable to follow. Hopefully the suspect goes away for life and the chair as well. Since he is just as guilty of homicide in this case as the officers are. This either way should not be declared a good shoot. Justified maybe, would need more info to determine that.

So, is shooting innocent people excusable?
Yes or no?

Color. Me. Surprised. So, is it me, or are the cops just doing a LOT of stupid shit? I wouldn't have anything to 'should have done something different' if they were doing the right thing... correct? Don't shoot the messenger (Or the store manager)...

When officers are actively taking fire, I give them a shitload of latitude to defend themselves, so it looks like their use of force was justified even in spite of the tragic outcome. We can (and should) hold LE to high expectations, but we can't expect 100% perfection. If I put myself in the officers' shoes, I probably would have taken the same action, meaning it could have been my bullet that hit the employee. Something to think about.

I have a couple close friends that are LEOs, I want them to come home to their families and friends. I'm thankful they are willing to place themselves in harms way for us, it would be a truly gruesome society without them. They are just plain everyday folks, not super heros , no laser vision, no ESP, no perfect judgement etc. While there are certainly 'bad' cops , they are the minority. Bad doctors, bad lawyers, bad mechanics, bad carpenters, bad hairdressers, bad governors, bad spouses even bad dogs . Oh well , shit happens, we all gonna die , that is a fer shur.
So Mr.TW, I don't know you, don't particularly want to know you, don't care for the drivel you keep posting but it isn't my forum but I'm good with you knocking it off a bit if you kindly would sir.
