Anyone who has been to the DOL (DMV for the Non-Kale eaters) knows that this is normal.

It’s a government agency, difficult to fire employees because the union contract is solid and the managers are too lazy to write people up. Not only that, but write ups are only valid for 6 months. We have the same problem with lazy assholes at the VA hospital. We all know who these fuckups are, but can’t do anything about them because the managers are just as lazy, not writing people up, not doing their job, and too busy trying to make promotion, so they don’t want to call out how fucked up their departments are in order to look better for their bosses. The whole system is a ducking sham. The problem is I make too much ducking money and can’t get away from this fucked up place. Damn mortgages to pay. So, while the fuckups dick around and don’t do any work, those of us who actually do work end up doing most of the work, resulting in ya getting burned the fuck out and having bad attitudes because we’re so damn tired.
If there were ANY FUCKING SEMBLANCE OF GODDAMN LEADERSHIP, the thing would work. But no, you have retired sergeant majors who are fucking politicians not doing a goddamn thing because they’re trying to make their second retirement. Fuck all these fucking assholes. Of course they won’t promote me or anyone who would inflict change because we would call them out and upend their delicate ecosystem. Fucking pathetic. I’m stunned our department even functions.

Got the same problem where I work. Foreman refuses to make a decision or call out the social justice warrior on my crew. Usually I “suggest” a course of action and he does it. The sjw I just ignore. He’ll get his when he goes to day shift next week. The guys are already plotting his demise. Nobody will do anything to him, he’ll do it to himself. All they’ll do is not cover for him anymore.

Yes. They are. So are most groups of humans. Just when Gov does it, it's on a larger scale. And us peons get angry because our representatives are part of the problem, never solving the problem. You really can't defend government screw ups.

Well, it's easy to talk shit about the sleeping employee, and that's fine, but her manager should be fired as well. If the manager knew about this, and didn't document it properly and do something about it, then that manager should be sent on his/her way as well.

Being in the Army for a number of years, it is next to impossible to get people (certain DoD civilians) to change their behavior, much less fired for sub par performance. Same for full time green suiters.
