There are a few manly Subie owners here. I have a 2017 Outback, and the eyesight keeps going off and on. Any thoughts as to what might be causing it? Remember it's 100 degrees here so I don't have heavy rain/fog issues.

No it is all factory.
The window is clean. I t just keeps going off, and on. If I was in Oly I would just go to the dealer, but the nearest one to me now is over an hour away. Without eyesight cruise control is disabled. I will be calling the dealer on Monday, but I'm hoping somebody here knows a hack.

That's the dumbest thing. In my Acura you can use regular or adaptive cruise....

Did you hit up Subie forums? My Lexus if you unplug the POS sensor for the autowiper it will default to regular intermittent. You might be able to fool your eyesight to thinking there is a fault in the system and gain regular cruise.

The thread title lends itself to some jokes :ROFLMAO:

But, I've been hitting Goldie hard lately with Subue jokes, so I'll behave...

In all honesty, I hope it's any easy fix for ya :thumbsup2:

I saw a commercial from another dealer about this stuff, didn't sound like the control I wanted to relinquish, though....

Ok they call that Lane guide something or other.

So ...no drinking and driving. That sux.

Maybe the subie didn't like water sprayed on it for 9 months out of the year .....(rain) Im Kidding.

Pretty sure there aren't any short cut fixes.

The Mfgs tie these amenities to each other for a reason....as you see the Eyesite is tied to the cruise.

This forces Owner that could care less about eyesite and could do without it, to take it in for $$$$$$ repairs because Cruise is pretty useful to most drivers.

Subie Dealerships are pretty proud of their work....might as well be driving a BENZ.

Sorry Chuck.

If you were still in Wa State theres a Subie only shop in tacoma.....You could call them Tuesday. For a reference and Advice.

It worked great for my drive from WA to OK. It's doing it now into the sun, away. It just keeps going on and off. I know I'm going to have to go to the dealer, but in this case it's over an hour away with no cruise control. That adaptive cruise control is what made it possible to make the 2k mile drive out here.

Just for kicks, why not call that dealer and explain what's going on and the fact you are an hour away.
