I had a normal 50 state american flag that I flew frequently and observed all flag etiquette.

That flag was a flag given to me by My GF's Dad before he passed away. It meant a lot.

His only Grandson just purchased a house in Edmonds. Its his first house so I rehomed Grandpa Bobs flag to his Grandson.

Seemed only appropriate that he should have his Grandfathers flag.

Right?

So to get to the question.

I'm a George Carlin non-conformist.

Is there any reason I can't fly an earlier flag?

Like B. Ross's 13 star?

Or God forbid the Grand Union?

What say the masses....I don't know if there's a unwritten rule?

I say fly the Confederate flag first in order to establish himself to all the new neighbors.

The American Flag Foundation says any official flag of the US is cleared for display. http://americanflagfoundation.org/frequently-asked-questions/

Well, the one I want to fly has a field that resembles the Jack in the left corner.

That will rile the people that dont know their history.....

Probably be accused of flying a White Privilege flag.

Thank You!

I may change my flag though....

Quote:
In fact, during the bicentennial of the War of 1812, the years 2012 - 2015, many governors are asking citizens to fly the official 15-star, 15-stripe Star-Spangled Banner Flag, which is the Flag that flew over Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland during this war and inspired Francis Scott Key to write our national anthem.

This is actually a pretty cool fact.

I guess my question is, why wouldn't you want to fly the current version of the flag? Just asking. As mislabeled said, though, any version is fine.

I fly two flags, at equal height--the current flag of the U.S., and the current flag of Canada. I also have two garden flag versions, and a third flag--the Thin Blue Line flag--also a garden flag, on a separate stand.

As stated in my original post...

Years ago I took the Non Conformist Oath.

I want different and if its ok then Ill fly different.

I really think the Fort McHenry 15/15 is the best choice for me.

It says more ...and could be a learning tool for other folk that ask why it looks different.
