I bought my Browning Hells Canyon 65 gun safe while it was on sale at Cabelas for $2100 shipped. What I learned was that I would never buy one with an electronic lock again. While the safe itself is sturdy, the locks are total crap.
Spend the extra $$ and get a mechanical lock- no matter what the sales person tries to tell you.
I disagree. The S&G electronic lock is as reliable as a mechanical one, provided you keep 9v batteries on hand. It’s EMP proof, DOD rated, and all that jazz. And it’s a million times easier to open.
They had a demo mechanical lock at NWS. It took me many tries each time to get it juuuuust right to get it opened. I’d like to get into my safe when I want to get into my safe...
