Quote: "FOX News supports CNN in its legal effort to regain its White House reporter's press credential. We intend to file an amicus brief with the U.S. District Court. Secret Service passes for working White House journalists should not be weaponized. While we don't condone the antagonistic tone by both the President and the press at recent media avails, we do support a free press, access and open exchanges for the American people," Wallace's statement read. The way things are done, are super important.

It was a setup.
Why did POTUS call on Acosta? A guy he obviously hates.
Because he was all pissed about life and wanted to start a fight that would be a nice distraction from the daily shenanigans.
Sure, reporters can be assholes. That's their job sometimes. But this whole thing was Trumped up from the get go.

Does that mean that neither of you think it was a little odd for Trump to call on Acosta first, right out of the box? A guy who notoriously has been a pain in Trump's ass for quite some time.
I'm not that blind. I need reading glasses to read, but even a fool can SEE that it was planned.

Best to just rip that thing off right now, and get it over with. This is my guess, too. If there were hints that Acosta planned to raise a fuss or be disruptive (chatter in the hallway, body language), it's much better to get into it straightaway so you can get back to business. Why let him interrupt others or turn the event into a circus? That only serves Acosta and no one else.

I don't think so. Trump did not need to call on him at all. Trump did it on purpose to get a reaction exactly like this. This allows Trump to continue to attack MSM, and CNN in particular. He knows that this is exactly what a large percentage of his base wants. Trump was being tactical in his war against MSM is what I think.

Really too much to expect every press rep to behave themselves and not act like Acosta? What's the functional difference in banning Acosta versus never calling on him ever with the expectation that he'll always be rude?

He knows confrontation with msm\cnn is a winning strategy with his base.

Or maybe we just wanted to get it over with because he knew it was eventually coming. How often do you or I have to deal with obnoxious jerks day after day in front of TV cameras?

Well the Judge ruled to give Acosta his pass back on a temporary status. Mostly due to no Due Process in the pass being pulled in the first place.

Totally insane. These corporate media people shouldn't get special privileges.
Why doesn't every joe-boh blogger out there get a press pass? We need to end the special privileges these lib media people get.

I disagree. Trump is playing a bigger game than you think. This is tactics on his part, and acosta rose to the occasion. Leave the emotion behind and look at the bigger picture.
