Mine went from $1850 to $2775 and coverage has barely changed. It's safeco, and my broker is going to be shopping around.
I'm not rich, it's a 100+ year old house so they justify the "well it takes more money to rebuild" even though at the $300k payout i would just buy the neighbors house and build another garage in it's place if it burned.

Whoa. That does seem really high. Mine is less than 1/3 of that. Is that just because older home? Old wiring??? For sure shop.

Try Pemco, though they're low rates are based on that I have automobile insurance with them too ($900/year-2600 sq ft house that is 21 years old)

You need to talk to your insurance agent. Mine built in 1977 @$350K through Safeco ~$550/yr My GF house just up the street is a larger lot and bigger house and hers is just a bit more. Somebody dropped a decimal Flood Plain?

There is also Lora, who is a WaGuns member and a State Farm agent. Here is a link of her thread on here: /viewtopic.php?f=36&t=90106&p=888893#p888893

We're about $855 for a bit over $300K , live about 1/2 mile from a fire sub-station 1.5 miles from city limits with Safeco. Your rate must be based on location or some sort of risk rather than just payout value. That is 3 times what ours is with the same company and similar values. Jeebus.

Make sure you check the gun policy. Safeco covers your guns up to the policy amount.
Others, usually have something retarded like a $2500 limit on guns without a rider.

If I'm not mistaken, Lora is independent now, so while she does still write State Farm Policies, she can compare costs and write other policies, as well.
