A Chicago police officer and multiple other people, including an apparent shooter, were wounded in an “active shooter” attack at Mercy Hospital on the Near South Side that brought out a large police presence Monday afternoon, authorities said.

Time to ban murder... er... ban assault... er... um... ban high capacity "clips..." er... um... ban carrying a gun in a hospital... er... well... how about banning carrying guns entirely... well... um... hmmmm....

Gang bangers are always a concern at level 1 Trauma centers. My wife had to deal with them for a good 20 years before going into nurse management.

Said they constantly had people shot in the parking lot, gunshot victims coming in, and wasn't unusual for more gang bangers to come in and try to finish them off in the ER if they were still alive. A couple unlocked doors and a building that happened to be a Hospital made this a story. Dead Murderer POS was shooting it out with the Police before he was chased into the Hospital. Any bets they hold the PD responsible. If this all went down in the street on a friday or saturday during a hot summer night ........It Wouldn't even make the news. Need larger no weapons signs??
Watched one of the gun channels the other day and they were discussing 'active shooters' which could be guns, knives, clubs even cars. Anyone trying to harm or kill others . One host said something to the effect that there is a very small chance any of us will be involved in that type of situation...very small but it wasn't zero. |
